High-Income Support
Guideline child support and temporary spousal support are formula-driven, but the formula assumes ordinary income. When a spouse earns well above the guideline range, has variable or partly non-cash income, or has income that can be characterized in more than one way, the outcome depends on how the numbers are presented and argued.
I represent both paying and receiving spouses in high-income support cases. On either side, the work is the same: establish the true income picture, understand the marital standard of living, and reach a support arrangement that is fair, sustainable, and, ideally, agreed rather than litigated.
